FreeStyleGames™ are currently recruiting for roles on new
and original projects across all current and next generation
platforms.
Environment artists will be responsible for individual
environments from design and reference material collection,
through concepting, 3d mesh construction, texturing
and lighting to create the final in-game assets.
They will also be responsible for assigning parts of
each level to outsourcing units and managing the return
and evaluation of these assets. They will have to monitor
polygon budgets, texture budgets and test each level
they have produced. The artist must have excellent design
and communication skills, be able to create 3d models
to techical guidelines and have superb texture creation
skills using both photo reference and hand drawn techniques.
The successful candidates will have several years’
modelling and texturing experience on at least one current
generation platform and experience using 3DSMax and/or
Maya. A willingness to work with others is essential.
Good fine art skills are also an advantage.
Key requirements:
- 3DS Max / Maya experience
- Photoshop experience
- Design vision and an ability to produce detailed
concepts
- At least 2 years industry experience & 1 published
game
Additional preferred requirements:
- Experience in working with an outsource Unit
- Knowledge of Perforce
