Welcome, welcome, welcome…..
This is me:
I am sure that it will not have escaped your notice that our lovely website www.freestylegames.com has had a bit of a revamp. We wanted something to show what we’re about, and we are about more than just DJ Hero (much as we love it), waaaaay more!

FreeStyle 36hr Film Fest Results!
Well, what can I say? We had the film screening after work on Friday and what a laugh we all had! We had a mix of beautiful films, to arty, to funny, to horror to the downright silly and every film was really good but in different ways. We hadn’t planned on this being a competition but the next thing we knew we had two Professors of Film from Warwick University to come along to judge the films!
Each team was issued with props and given 36 hours to make a film using the props.
Here’s a run down of the films entered for our Film Fest #2.
The Spear of Kamulatuskic
Winner: Critics Award and Favourite Film. A film by Matt Flint, Paul Turland, Pete O’Donnell, Tim Dunn, Jim Norris, Nate Coppard and Myself: “A cursed spear + one angry elephant= The action carnage spectacular of 2013!” – Paul T.
Amazing fun to make, full of bloopers and incredible special effects! Watch it here!

FreeStyleFilm 36hr Rush!
We are nearing the end of our FreeStyleFilm 36hr film rush and competition is hotting up.
We have 6 teams competing in our film making competition and we’re screening our films tonight after work so I can’t wait to see them. Last year’s entries were brilliant so this year will be better!
We have the programmers trying to be super secretive, but in actual fact are anything but discrete and laughing out very loudly watching their film clips while editing! Management (Jamie and Dave’s team) are actually succeeding in keeping their film under wraps apart from the little sneak peak of Jamie’s costume he tweeted.
The artists are making a film titled The Initiation, and the other two teams are so secretive I don’t even know who they are….
We, the Designers, are naturally confident of our chances with the level of ‘sophistication’ with our sets and props. See pic for Paul (right) directing (L-R) Pete our Design Manager, Jim our token American and me in our toilet scene.
With any luck I’ll be able to share a few of the finished results in the next week or so!

Jamie Jackson features on One of Swords PodCast
Our very own Jamie Jackson drops in to see Dan Amrich while he was over in the US last week and got roped into a One of Swords Podcast. Have a listen – Jamie’s references to old computers will bring back happy memories for those of us old enough to remember them

E3, Baby!
So…a few of us went out for E3 to show SiNG and it was super exciting. The main reason being that after a long period of sworn secrecy of what we have been working on, we were finally able to share it with our friends/family and the world!
We took out a team of 4 to man our booth located on the Nintendo stand (stand almost implies small, it was anything but!). We had Paul Turland (Senior Designer), Rich Orchard (Music Production Co-ordinator), Hannah Dial (Dancer) and myself. Our studio head Jamie Jackson and Dave Osbourn our Design Director also came out with us.
